MOKSHA-PATAM – A PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT THROUGH QUESTIONING

The profound insights of Gyandev, a poet-saint from the 13th century, gave birth to an divinatory game known as Mokshapata, mokshapattam, param padam or vaikunthpalli.

This divination board is also referred to as "The Leela of Self Knowledge" by seers, and is known as Gyan Chaupad – a "Game of Knowledge." Created by seers and saints, this game was crafted as a means to learn the Wisdom and Laws of life. The participant or seeker must adhere to the stipulated rules.

The game features a board adorned with snakes and ladders. Here, the ladder symbolizes virtues while the snakes depict vices. The game is still played with a dice and a coin, signifying the player. Despite modifications over centuries, the fundamental essence of this game remains intact.

Comprising of 72 boxes, each representing a specific state of being at a given moment, the knowledge imparted by this board is immeasurable. It grants us the ability to inquire about not only our past, present, and future, but also about our Soul's overarching journey. It serves as a map of our internal states. Beyond offering answers, this board can guide us in creating solutions that can alter the circumstances that gave rise to the questions. Ladders signify positive attributes of our behavior and consciousness that facilitate our evolution, while Snakes represent our negative aspects that require transformation for attaining enlightenment.

Initially designed to instill moral values and quick thinking skills among players or disciples of saints, the mokshapattam's profoundness led to its use for divination. The board serves as a dual-purpose tool, offering both entertainment and guidance on life's do's and don'ts. It imparts teachings on divine rewards, punishments, ethical values, and morality. The ultimate aim of each soul is to attain salvation or moksha, reaching the Vaikuntha Loka.

So, what can one expect from a Mokshapatta reading?

Mokshapatta is a divination tool that imparts ancient Indian wisdom and the principles of karma. It welcomes any question, responding with the board's wisdom and the reader's awakened intuition.

In a Mokshapatta reading, you can receive answers not only about your past, present, and future inquiries but also gain insights into pivotal turning points that you may have experienced in various stages of your life, whether in this lifetime or your past ones. The board unveils it all.

Moksha-Patam is far more than just an ordinary game board. It possesses the potential to transform not only your materialistic existence but also elevate your spiritual journey to greater wisdom.
